My mind can't seem to grasp the fact that we're leaving in just a few short days, so I'm alternating between excitement, panic, and equanimity.
After a day of introducing Angel (baker and catsitter extraordinaire) to Spot (see above for the uninitiated) and the Homestead, running errands and seeing Zombieland, tonight is all about packing. Last night probably should have been, but the Xbox was calling...
Dad spoke to his Doc on advice regarding travel preparation, so I am breathing a big sigh of relief. Sounds like he is planning to bring just canes for the trip since his alternate walker's slingseat has not arrived, but maybe the ferrari walker would still be a good thing to bring. And his flaky ebay seller has come up with nothing as far as an iPod so I'm going to go pick him one up on Monday and give him a tutorial Monday night. Should be a great tool for him on the journey and between that and his digital camera, he'll be rolling digital-style through the Highlands.
I'm planning to bring my old DV camera for as much moving footage (Nessie, I'm gunning for you), but I won't be posting that on the journey; readers of this here blog will need to follow via still photos on the Flickr feed over on the right. I'll try to update it nightly, but remember, we'll be 8 hours ahead (for our PST family and friends).
This trip sounds FAB!!! Enjoy but to get to overwhelmed and tired. If you find some thing you really like, stay a while longer to enjoy and leave something else out. When I did New Zealand, I tried to do it all in 13 days. Bad mistake. When I got there, there were things I would like to have spent more time at but the schedule would not allow it. Very Disappointing!
