Flashback: Day Nine - Incident at Loch Ness

Day 9: Friday, October 16

• Breakfast at the Firestation. Scone with bacon egg cheese roll. Can't...stop...EATING THESE THINGS.
• Off toward Inverness to see Loch Ness today. Found a lovely spot to deposit some of Mom’s ashes at a viewpoint in the Cairngorms, and shared a moment with Dad as we did so. She would truly have loved the surroundings and the view, and it's a perfect place for her.

• Drove through Inverness and (other town) and got to Urquhart Castle. Breathtaking views, beautiful walk, thought I saw Nessie a couple times but PROBABLY not. Best part was Dad was able to use a scooter to get around most of the property, which made it all that much easier. Had roast beef and irn bru in the café, then headed on to the town of Drummnadrochit.

• Stopped into the ORIGINAL Loch Ness Monster Center and checked out a goofy local exhibit, then a half hour film about Nessie. VERY interesting with some pictures and "evidence" I had never seen. Browsed the shop then left in search of coffee.

• Had mocha in the town café and accessed email and the blog for the first time in days. Dad tried to access money but his password was not working.
• Back to Tomintoul, stopped into the Hotel for dinner but it was all booked again. Stopped at a phone booth so dad could get his PIN sorted, but their only solution was to mail a new one, even when dad explained we are out of the country on holiday. Dad’s likely going to be leaving Wells Fargo when we get back.

• Had an amazing dinner back at the Clockhouse again. Wild mushroom soup, South African Merlot, roast pork with chutney and potato rittio (?), with double chocolate fondant (like lava cake) for dessert. Man the food has been OUTSTANDING.
